End of year High Points Awards
Members can compete throughout the year in up to eight catagories.

These include:

Four Ridden

Two Inhand

Versatility

Distance Riding

Members need to purchase a booklet for each discipline they wish to compete in for the end of year, awards, points are accumulated for attending and placings at each eligible event. As of May 2017 members can register for 1 discipline free of charge with their membership.

At the conclusion of the season (30th April) all books are returned to the Assn and the top six in each of the eight catagories receive a placing sash with the winner also taking home a trophy.

General Rules (apply to ALL booklets)
1. Every competition you compete at you get 5 points for attending, If you have entered and can’t compete

but go unmounted you get 3 points. Spectators get 0 points. These points must be entered in the book

specifically for that discipline.

2. Any training days our Association holds eg. Cross Country, dressage, turn out or club organised

activities etc. you get 5 points for attendance, these points can be entered into ONE of your high points

books of your own choice.

3. Helpers at any NZSRA organised event earn 5 attendance points, these points can be entered into ONE

of your high points books of your own choice.

4. All Placing’s from 1st to 6th earn points

5. Write down all the competitions you go to and the placings you receive in the booklet provided.

6. Maiden, Novice and District classes do not count for points except in the lowest level of ridden showing.

7. Versatility does not include Standardbred showing at any level, trail or endurance riding.

8. The Committee has the right to change or delete any rules at their discretion and their decision is final.

9. Separate booklets are required for each combination. If someone else rides your horse/s, that does not

count for points as that is a new combination of horse and rider.

10. Points may only be accrued once membership subscriptions and high points booklets have been paid.

11. Combination must be nominated at time of purchasing high points booklets.

12. All booklets go from 1st May to 30th April (subject to rule 10) and must be returned ASAP after that date.

NOTE: please make sure you record EVERY SHOW AND ALL PLACINGS and ANY Championships

or Reserves, even if you are unsure if they are counted as the committee has the discretion and will

determine at the end of the high points showing year.

Inhand Showing
* The Lorna Dee Inhand Trophy Over 158cm

* NZSRA Inhand Trophy 158cm & Under

1. These trophies are for any Inhand Standardbred Showing that all members are eligible for.

2. All General Rules apply for these trophies.

3. Maiden, Novice & District Classes do not count for points.

4. Any Inhand Showing not in a Standardbred Only section points are excluded (these points count

in versatility)

5. In reference to Youngstock – you may accrue points from either Youngstock or Mare / Gelding

classes but not both from the same show. Showing in a Youngstock only section points are

excluded (these points count in versatility)

Open Trophies
*Kotuku Saddlery Ridden A&P Shield Over 158cm
*Romanos Pizza Silver Tray Ridden A&P  158cm & Under

1. All General Rules apply to these trophies.

2. Shows that are not open to all members are not counted for points ie. Where A&P champions are not

allowed to compete etc.

Restricted Trophies
*Paso Prize Ridden Non A&P Trophy

1. This Trophy is restricted to ridden non A&P showing

2. All General Rules apply to this trophy.

3. All open pony club, riding club and restricted pony club and riding club shows count for points. Closed

shows DO NOT count for points except NZSRA run shows.

4. If your horse has received a Champion or Reserve at an A&P since in the last two seasons you are NOT

eligible.

5. Record all shows and placings you receive including Champions or Reserves.

* The Weeble Ridden Non A&P Trophy

1. This Trophy is restricted to ridden non A&P showing.

2. All General Rules apply to this trophy.

3. All pony club, riding club and restricted shows count for points. This also includes closed invitation

days, closed riding club and closed pony club shows.

4. Maiden and Novice classes do count for points.

5. Ridden Beginner and Green Horse Shows count for points.

6. If you receive a champion or reserve during this current season at any non restricted show you will be upgraded to the Paso Prize

Trophy.

7. As a combination if you have ever received a Open Champion or Reserve Open Champion at any A&P

show at any time you are not eligible for this trophy.

8. Record all shows and placings you receive.

Distance Riding Rules
*Abrams Family Trail Riding Trophy

1. All General Rules apply to this Trophy

2. Distance Riding includes all officially organised Trail Rides, Endurance Rides, Cavalcades,

Treks, Pleasure Rides.

3. Every event you attend you earn 5 attendance points plus any placings you receive.

4. All Placings earn points with 5th , 6th and Qualification all earning 2 points.

Versatility Rules

1. All General Rules apply to this trophy.

2. This Section includes all competitions except Standardbred Showing and distance riding,

Showing in non Standardbred Sections are included in versatility.

3. Competitions that are not open to all NZRSA members are not counted for points.

4. Maiden or Novice classes do not count for points.
